At the future mobility summit 2018 India, the government has decided to implement the idea of one card one nation. Working on the similar lines of one card used in cities like London and New York. Now the government is aiming to rejuvenate the transport sector in the country.
Bharatmala & Sagarmala Transportation
For a fact, Modi government has already initiated a number of projects under bharatmala. Which means the connection of cities and villages with roads, not just mud cleared roads but tarred roads. So that every village and industry are connected with each other. While another series of projects under the title sagarmala. In which all the seaports new and old are connected with roads and with each other as well. And later bharatmala is connected with Sagar mala giving a robust dignity to the transportation infrastructure.
But the question arises, where does the future lie? The answer is in the use of renewable energy resources. Since the inception of an international solar alliance. India has been nuanced about its policy towards pollution and use of environment-friendly resources. Such is the aim of One nation, One card Scheme.
Attributes of One Nation One Card Scheme
Under the one nation one card scheme, the current government is aiming to set up a transport infrastructure for the public. Such a transport system in which a person can use a single card to travel across a host of services, for example, Metros, Trains, Aeroplanes etc. by using the one card. But here is the catch, well it is not an ominous catch per se; but its rather a beneficial aspect of this scheme. The government will run a host of transport services based on biofuels, environment-friendly energy resources, solar energy, and perhaps hydrogen-based fuels.
This is on par with the fact that India currently hosts at least 3 of the most populated cities in the world. The air quality index is reducing day by day and so is visibility index. Selling of fresh air business is on the boom (bad omen! Apologies) and people can barely breathe from the air. Currently, the economic potential of clean energy in India is at the stage of inception. If this potential is tapped into properly, the economy will grow and an ideal state called sustainable development can take place.
